This occurs in the area just before the beginning of the toes on the bottom of the foot. This is where the majority of pressure is put when standing and can be placed under considerable strain.

This can cause nerve swellings (neuroma) which cause significant pain.

The condition is more commonly known as Mortons neuroma or metatarsalgia.
